Michael Brennan enters the final round of the Bank of Utah Championship at -17, with Stephan Jaeger climbing the leaderboard.
At the Bank of Utah Championship on the PGA Tour, American newcomer Michael Brennan slightly extended his lead, finishing his third round at seven under par. The 23-year-old from Virginia had a rough start with a double bogey on the second hole, but quickly recovered with an eagle on the seventh. He added seven birdies throughout the round to solidify his position at the top of the leaderboard at -17 overall.
Matt McCarthy, Brennan’s closest competitor, also shot a 64 on Saturday to reach -15, keeping the final round on Sunday highly competitive. Tied for third at -14 are Rico Hoey, Kevin Yu, and Pierceson Coody, all hoping for a slip from Brennan to move up the ranks.
Stephan Jaeger climbs the leaderboard
Germany’s Stephan Jaeger, 36, continued his steady climb up the leaderboard. He carded a bogey-free 67 on Saturday, featuring five birdies and just one bogey. However, his opening round of 72 still weighs down his overall standing. Jaeger now sits at -9, having moved up six spots.
Meanwhile, 31-year-old Jeremy Paul posted a solid 69 in round three but remains tied for 37th overall, unable to break into the top ranks despite consistent play.
