LIV Golf increases qualification spots through the International Series and confirms the 2026 Promotions event.
LIV Golf has announced the qualification pathways for the 2026 LIV Golf League season. According to a recent press release, players can qualify through two main routes: the LIV Golf Promotions event and the International Series.
International Series: A Key Route to LIV Golf
The International Series, sanctioned by the Asian Tour, serves as a primary access point to the LIV Golf League. Starting in 2026, the top two players from the 2025 International Series Order of Merit, who are not already part of the LIV League, will earn full-season spots.
The 2025 schedule includes events in India, Macau, Japan, Morocco, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Hong Kong. As of now, Scott Vincent (Zimbabwe) and Miguel Tabuena (Philippines) lead the standings. The final two events will be held in Singapore (November 6–9) and Saudi Arabia (November 19–22).
“As fan interest in LIV Golf continues to grow and opportunities expand to compete across the U.S., Asia-Pacific, Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, it’s only natural to open more doors for talented, ambitious players,” said LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil. Previously, only one spot was available via the International Series.
LIV Golf Promotions: Florida Event Offers More Spots
In addition to the International Series, the LIV Golf Promotions tournament offers another route into the league. The third edition of the event will take place January 8–11, 2026, at Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto, Florida.
The tournament features four rounds of stroke play over four days. The top two finishers will earn full-season status for the 2026 LIV Golf League, doubling the number of spots compared to 2025. The top ten finishers (including ties) will also qualify for the 2026 International Series. The total purse is $1.5 million, with $200,000 awarded to the winner and $150,000 to the runner-up.
On Thursday, January 8, the top 20 players (and ties) from Round 1 will advance to Round 2, where scores reset and a new group of pre-qualified players joins. The top 20 and ties from Round 2 move on to a 36-hole shootout over the weekend, culminating on Sunday.
The event is open to leading professionals and amateurs worldwide. Players can qualify for each round through various categories.
Category A (Round 1): Includes participants from major amateur events (e.g., Walker Cup, Palmer Cup), top-ranked players in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, International Series, Data Golf Rankings, and regional tours.
Category B (Round 2): Features automatically qualified players such as winners of major amateur tournaments, top performers on international pro tours, recent major champions, Ryder and Presidents Cup players, and LIV Golf League members without 2026 contracts.
