Jayden Schaper claims the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open with a playoff chip-in eagle, marking his second straight DPWT win.
South African golfer Jayden Schaper delivered another thrilling finish to secure victory at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, the final event of the 2025 DP World Tour season. Playing at La Réserve Golf Links, Schaper edged out American Ryan Gerard in a playoff, replicating his triumph from the previous week at the Alfred Dunhill Championship.
Schaper started strong with two birdies on the front nine and an eagle on the 5th hole. He maintained momentum on the back nine, carding four more birdies to finish the day with a stellar 64 (-8). Gerard kept the pressure on with a bogey-free round that included six birdies, finishing with a 66 (-6).
Both players ended regulation play at 22-under-par, forcing a playoff. On the second extra hole, Schaper sealed the win with a spectacular chip-in eagle, while Gerard could only manage par. It was Schaper’s second consecutive playoff win, capping off a remarkable end to his 2025 season.
Jayden Schaper: ‘I couldn’t have asked for more’
Speaking after the win, an emotional Schaper said, ‘The last three weeks have been incredible. I don’t know what to say. Ending a tournament like this is just crazy. It’s been such a great week, such a great place, the support, the golf course—from start to finish. I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Christmas is going to be great this year, and so is the New Year.’
Fellow South African Casey Jarvis claimed third place after a steady performance throughout the week. His final round included four birdies and three bogeys, resulting in a 71.
Mixed results for German players
Germany’s Marcel Siem and Marcel Schneider, who had been closely matched throughout the tournament, both struggled on the final day. Schneider’s round unraveled on the back nine with three bogeys and a double bogey, finishing with a 78 and dropping to T37 at -4. Siem also faltered, carding a 76 with three double bogeys and two bogeys, ending tied with Schneider.
Nick Bachem, the third German to make the cut, shot even par on the final day and finished T48 at -1.
