Thomas Rosenmüller climbs leaderboard with eagle at Bermuda Championship

Thomas Rosenmüller made a big move on Day 2 of the PGA Tour event in Bermuda. All three Germans made the cut.

At the Butterfield Bermuda Championship on Friday, Thomas Rosenmüller carded a 68 to climb near the top 20, highlighted by an eagle late in his round. Matti Schmid also bounced back from a rough start on Thursday with a solid round to move into the middle of the pack. Jeremy Paul, who had the best opening round among the Germans, struggled on Day 2 but narrowly made the cut with a 2-over-par 73. Canadian Adam Hadwin maintained the lead ahead of Americans Chandler Phillips and Braden Thornberry.

PGA Tour: Rosenmüller’s eagle sparks leaderboard leap

Thomas Rosenmüller impressed on Day 2 in Bermuda with a steady performance and a clutch eagle on the 17th hole. His round began with some inconsistency, including a bogey on the 2nd and another on the 7th after a birdie on the 6th. He recovered with a birdie on the 8th to make the turn at even par. On the back nine, the 28-year-old played more confidently, adding a birdie on the 10th. The highlight came at the par-5 17th, where he reached the green in two and holed the putt for eagle. He finished the day at 3-under, placing him T24 heading into the weekend.

Schmid rebounds, Paul fades late

Matti Schmid also made progress with a solid round. He started strong with three consecutive birdies on holes 12, 13, and 14. However, bogeys on 15 and 18 tempered his momentum, and he made the turn at 1-under. On the front nine, he played steady golf, adding a birdie on the 11th and avoiding further mistakes. His 69 moved him up to T46.

Jeremy Paul, who had opened with a 69, couldn’t maintain his form. He played clean golf through 14 holes, sitting at even par. But a poor drive on the 15th led to a bogey, which he briefly offset with a birdie on 17. Unfortunately, a double bogey on the 18th after a missed green and three-putt dropped him to a 73 for the day. At even par for the tournament, he just made the cut.
