Rory McIlroy had a career-defining 2025, winning multiple titles and raking in over $36 million in prize money.
For Rory McIlroy, 2025 was a year to remember. After an early win at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, he went on to triumph at The Players Championship and finally captured the elusive green jacket at The Masters, completing the Career Grand Slam. He also secured a dramatic victory at his home event, the Amgen Irish Open, and helped Team Europe win their first away Ryder Cup since 2012. It was a near-perfect season for the Northern Irishman, both in terms of trophies and financial rewards.
Rory McIlroy earns over $13 million by April
McIlroy’s year started strong with a win at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, including a hole-in-one, netting him $3.6 million. He added nearly $1 million more from three solid finishes before claiming the biggest payday of the year at The Players Championship, where he defeated J.J. Spaun in a playoff to earn $4.5 million. In April, McIlroy finally won The Masters, fulfilling a lifelong dream and joining the elite group of Career Grand Slam winners. The victory added another $4.2 million to his earnings, pushing his total prize money past $13 million before the end of April. The Masters win also made him only the second player in PGA Tour history, after Tiger Woods, to surpass $100 million in career earnings.
Bonuses and international wins boost total to $36 million
While the rest of the PGA Tour season wasn’t as dominant, McIlroy still managed a T2 finish at the Genesis Scottish Open and collected $3.6 million in additional tournament earnings. His consistent performance placed him second in the Comcast Business Tour standings, earning him a $6 million bonus. He added over $800,000 from the BMW Championship (T12) and Tour Championship (T23), and finished second in the FedEx Cup, which came with a $7.5 million payout.
McIlroy’s win at the Irish Open brought in another $1 million, and his performances in Abu Dhabi and the DP World Tour Championship, along with winning the Race to Dubai, added over $3 million more. Altogether, McIlroy closed out 2025 with more than $36 million in prize money, capping off one of the most successful years of his storied career.
