Golf legend Bernhard Langer ends his 18-year winning streak on the PGA Tour Champions, finishing 2023 without a title.
For the first time since 2007, the PGA Tour Champions season concluded without Bernhard Langer claiming a tournament victory. The 66-year-old German finished T14 at the Charles Schwab Cup Championship, officially ending one of the most remarkable streaks in professional golf history.
Bernhard Langer: The King of the PGA Tour Champions
Since joining the PGA Tour Champions in 2007, Langer has played in 377 events, amassing a record-breaking 47 wins, including 12 senior majors, and 237 top-10 finishes. His consistency and longevity have set him apart, as he managed to win at least one event in every season from 2007 through 2022—an 18-year streak unmatched in the tour’s history. The next closest is Hale Irwin, who won in 11 consecutive seasons. Langer also holds the records for being the oldest winner on tour multiple times, occupying positions two through six on that list.
Despite his age, Langer continued to perform at a high level in 2023. He competed in 21 events, earning seven top-10 finishes, including a T2 at the Mitsubishi Electric Championship. Impressively, he shot below his age 11 times during the season. Earlier this year, he also bid farewell to the Masters after 41 appearances.
Still Winning—Just Not Officially
While he didn’t secure an official PGA Tour Champions title in 2023, Langer did win the WinstonGolf Senior Open in Germany, leading from start to finish. Additionally, he is set to defend his title at the PNC Championship alongside his son Jason, though the event is not counted as an official tour win.
