Jayden Schaper wins again in playoff at AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open

Jayden Schaper claims his second consecutive DP World Tour title with a dramatic chip-in eagle at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open.

South African Jayden Schaper continued his sensational form by winning the 2025 AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open on the DP World Tour. Held at La Réserve Golf Links, Schaper replicated his playoff success from the previous week’s Alfred Dunhill Championship, this time edging out American Ryan Gerard in spectacular fashion.

Schaper opened his final round with two birdies and an eagle on the front nine, then added four more birdies on the back nine to card an impressive 64 (-8). Gerard kept the pressure on with a bogey-free 66 (-6), featuring six birdies, which brought both players to a 22-under-par total and forced a playoff.

On the second playoff hole, Schaper sealed the victory with a stunning chip-in eagle, while Gerard could only manage par. It marked Schaper’s second straight win on the DP World Tour, both achieved in playoffs, capping off a remarkable end to his 2025 season.

Jayden Schaper: ‘I couldn’t have asked for anything better’

Speaking after his win, an emotional Schaper reflected on his back-to-back victories: ‘The last three weeks have been incredible. I don’t know what to say. It’s just crazy to finish a tournament like that. It’s been such a great week, such a great place, the support, the golf course—from start to finish. I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Christmas is going to be great this year, and so is the New Year.’

Fellow South African Casey Jarvis secured third place. Despite a solid performance throughout the week, his final round of 71 included three bogeys and four birdies, leaving him just short of contention.

Mixed results for German players on final day

German golfers Marcel Siem and Marcel Schneider, who had tracked closely throughout the tournament, both struggled on the final day. Schneider, after a steady front nine, faltered on the back nine with three bogeys and a double bogey, finishing with a 78 and tied for 37th at -4. Siem also had a tough round, carding a 76 (+4) with three birdies offset by three double bogeys and two bogeys, ending alongside Schneider.

Nick Bachem, the third German to make the cut, shot even par on the final day to finish at -1, placing him tied for 48th.
