Jayden Schaper clinches his second consecutive DP World Tour title with a dramatic chip-in eagle at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open.
South African Jayden Schaper captured his second straight victory on the DP World Tour by winning the 2025 AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open in thrilling fashion. Held at La Réserve Golf Links on the island of Mauritius, Schaper edged out American Ryan Gerard in a playoff, just a week after his win at the Alfred Dunhill Championship.
Schaper opened the final round with two birdies and an eagle on the front nine, then added four more birdies on the back to card a superb 64 (-8). Gerard kept the pressure on with a bogey-free 66 (-6), featuring six birdies, to force a playoff with both players tied at 22-under-par.
In the playoff, Schaper delivered a spectacular chip-in eagle on the second extra hole to seal the win, while Gerard could only manage par. It marked Schaper’s second consecutive playoff victory and capped off a remarkable end to his 2025 season.
Jayden Schaper: ‘I couldn’t have asked for anything better’
Speaking after the win, Schaper was visibly emotional: ‘The last three weeks have been incredible. I don’t know what to say. It’s just crazy to finish a tournament like that. It was such a great week, such a great place, the support, the golf course—from start to finish. I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Christmas is going to be very good this year, and so is the New Year.’
Fellow South African Casey Jarvis finished third after a final-round 71 that included four birdies and three bogeys, maintaining a strong presence on the leaderboard throughout the week.
Mixed results for German players on final day
German duo Marcel Siem and Marcel Schneider, who had tracked closely together throughout the tournament, both struggled in the final round. Schneider started steadily but faltered on the back nine with three bogeys and a double bogey, finishing with a 78 and dropping to T37 at four-under-par. Siem also endured a tough day, carding a 76 that included three double bogeys, two bogeys, and three birdies, landing him in the same T37 position.
Nick Bachem, the third German to make the cut, shot even par on the final day and ended the tournament at one-under-par, tied for 48th place.
