DP World Tour: Schneider and Siem Shine on Moving Day in Mauritius

Marcel Schneider and Marcel Siem delivered strong rounds on Saturday at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, entering the final day in contention.

On Moving Day at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open on the DP World Tour, German golfers Marcel Schneider and Marcel Siem played their way into promising positions for the final round. Schneider carded a six-under 66 to climb into a tie for 9th, while Siem posted a four-under 68 to sit T14. At the top of the leaderboard are South Africa’s Casey Jarvis and American Ryan Gerard, both at 16-under-par. Gerard dazzled with the round of the day, a sizzling 63.

DP World Tour: Schneider nearly flawless, Siem rallies late

Marcel Schneider played a near-perfect round to break into the top 10. He opened his birdie account on the 4th hole and followed up with two more on 5 and 6. After another birdie on 8, his only blemish came at the 9th, where he made bogey—his third in as many days on that hole. Unfazed, the 35-year-old added three more birdies on the back nine (holes 12, 13, and 14) to finish with a 66 and move to T9.

Marcel Siem had a slower start, with a lone birdie on the 3rd hole marking the highlight of his front nine. A bogey on 10 set him back, but he caught fire with four consecutive birdies from holes 12 to 15. Despite another bogey on 16, he closed with a birdie on 18 to sign for a 68. At T14, Siem remains in the hunt for a strong finish.

Ryan Gerard surges with birdie blitz

Ryan Gerard delivered the round of the day with a nine-under 63. After an early bogey on the 2nd, he bounced back with birdies on 3, 5, 6, and 8 to go out in 33. His back nine was even more impressive, featuring a five-birdie streak from holes 12 to 16. He capped off the round with his tenth birdie of the day on 18, vaulting him into a share of the lead at 16-under-par.
