Marcel Siem and Marcel Schneider move into the top 20 at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, while Allen John withdraws.
The second round of the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and the Sunshine Tour, saw strong performances from several German players at La Réserve Golf Links in Bel Ombre, Mauritius. Despite intermittent rain and coastal winds, Marcel Siem and Marcel Schneider climbed the leaderboard into the top 20.
Siem and Schneider Break into Top 20
Marcel Schneider opened his round with four birdies on the front nine, offsetting a bogey on the 9th. He added two more birdies on the back nine before finishing with a bogey on the last hole, carding a 68 to sit at four-under-par and tied for 20th place.
Marcel Siem matched Schneider’s position with a strong 67 that included eight birdies and two bogeys. After an over-par round on day one, Siem’s local knowledge paid off, helping him rebound and move up the leaderboard.

Mixed Results for Other Germans
Nick Bachem maintained consistency with a 70, balancing two bogeys with four birdies to remain at two-under-par and tied for 37th. His steady play keeps him in contention heading into the weekend.
Dominic Foos struggled again, despite a promising start with a birdie on the front nine. A double bogey on the 8th hole disrupted his rhythm. Though he added three more birdies, two bogeys and another double bogey led to a 75, placing him tied for 116th and missing the cut.
Allen John Withdraws Mid-Round
Allen John began his round on the 10th hole but recorded three bogeys and a double bogey before withdrawing midway through the round. He exited the tournament at 14-over-par after completing three nine-hole segments.
