Marc Hammer secures his Asian Tour card after a five-hole playoff at Q-School in Hua Hin. Yuxin Lin tops the leaderboard.
The final stage of the Asian Tour Qualifying School (Q-School) at the Lake View Resort and Golf Club in Hua Hin, Thailand, saw 35 players earn their Asian Tour cards. Among them was German golfer Marc Hammer, who clinched his spot after a dramatic playoff. Chinese left-hander Lin Yuxin led the field with a dominant performance over five rounds, finishing at 16-under-par to top the leaderboard and secure his card in style.
Milestone victory for Lin Yuxin
Lin’s win marks a significant step in the career of the highly regarded golfer. A two-time Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship winner (2017, 2019) and former University of Florida standout, Yuxin turned professional in 2023. He has since competed on the PGA Tour Americas and in select Korn Ferry Tour events. Struggles on the greens, which he described as mostly mental, had held him back. “I played well all season but had putting issues, especially in the summer,” Lin said. “I worked hard on it in October and November, and my game has felt solid since.” He added, “It’s been tough with many ups and downs. Honestly, I just had to stay patient. I’ve learned a lot since turning pro—it’s been a valuable experience.”
India’s Shaurya Bhattacharya followed closely behind, finishing second at 15-under after a final-round 72. Canadian Henry Lee took third place at 14-under-par.
Marc Hammer prevails in playoff to earn Asian Tour ticket
The battle for the final tour cards came down to a tense five-hole playoff involving twelve players tied at 5-under-par for 28th place. Only eight cards remained, and Marc Hammer was among those who emerged victorious. The 27-year-old from Sandhausen, Germany, delivered consistent performances throughout the week, finishing with rounds of 71–67–72–70. His final-round 70 (-2) secured his place in the playoff, where he held his nerve to claim one of the coveted spots. Hammer has previous experience on the DP World Tour, where he posted three top-10 finishes last season.
Other German participants, including Nicolas Horder (T93), Philipp Katich (T100), Wolfgang Glawe (T118), and Julius Kreutzer (T118), failed to make the cut after the fourth round.
