The Champions Tour season wraps up in Phoenix, where five players still have a shot at the Charles Schwab Cup title.
The final chapter of the 2025 Champions Tour will be written in Phoenix. The Charles Schwab Cup marks the grand finale of the over-50s series, showcasing the most consistent performers of the year. Held at the Phoenix Country Club, a par-71 course stretching 6,860 yards, the event features the top 36 players of the season. While most are aiming to finish strong, five contenders still have a chance to claim the overall title.
Who Will Win the Charles Schwab Cup on the Champions Tour?
Steven Alker enters the finale as the points leader. The New Zealander has built a solid lead throughout the season, holding nearly a 100,000-point advantage over Miguel Ángel Jiménez. This cushion means Alker could secure the title even with a lower finish, provided his rivals don’t deliver. Jiménez needs at least a top-14 finish to stay in contention. Stewart Cink, Ernie Els, and Thomas Bjørn round out the top five — all needing standout performances to challenge for the Cup. For Els and Bjørn, only a win will keep their hopes alive.
German Veterans Langer and Cejka in the Field
From a German perspective, the Charles Schwab Cup remains a key event in 2025. Bernhard Langer and Alex Cejka have both qualified among the top 36 and will tee it up in Phoenix. Langer, a seven-time Charles Schwab Cup champion, is the defending champion of the season finale and enters ranked 27th. At 67, Langer has seen it all in his career — yet remains a competitive force. Cejka, currently 12th in the standings, is also in the mix for a strong finish at the Charles Schwab Cup Championship.
