Leonie Harm remains the top German at the LET season finale. Cowan, Briem, and Försterling also post solid rounds.
The second round of the Ladies European Tour at the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España saw significant movement on a punishing course. Thailand’s Trichat Cheenglab surged ahead with a flawless 63, reaching 15-under-par and establishing a commanding seven-shot lead over Italy’s Alessandra Fanali.
German players delivered mixed results, with birdie streaks, eagles, and tough stretches on the back nine. Leonie Harm continued to perform well, maintaining a strong position on the leaderboard, while others fought to stay in contention.
LET: Leonie Harm fights back
After a strong front nine with three birdies, Harm stumbled on the back nine with a double bogey and two bogeys. However, she rebounded impressively with a birdie on 16 and an eagle on 17, finishing with a 71 (-1). At five-under-par overall, she sits tied for 11th place.
Olivia Cowan found her rhythm in Málaga, carding a 70 with birdies on holes 2, 6, and 9. Despite bogeys on 16 and 17, a closing birdie on 18 helped her finish two-under-par overall, tied for 30th.
Mixed fortunes for Briem and Försterling
Helen Briem had a rocky start with two birdies offset by bogeys and a double bogey on the front nine. She steadied on the back nine with two birdies and no mistakes, ending with an even-par 72 and one-under overall, tied for 34th.
Alexandra Försterling posted a 72 after a round that included two bogeys and a birdie on the front nine, and a mix of bogeys, a birdie, and an eagle on the back. She stands at +1 overall, tied for 48th. Patricia Isabel Schmidt signed for another 74 and is tied for 57th, with three birdies unable to offset five bogeys.
