Jayden Schaper claims back-to-back DP World Tour titles with a dramatic chip-in eagle at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open.
South African Jayden Schaper delivered another thrilling performance to win the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, the final event of the 2025 DP World Tour season. Held at La Réserve Golf Links on the picturesque island of Mauritius, Schaper edged out American Ryan Gerard in a playoff—just a week after his victory at the Alfred Dunhill Championship.
Schaper opened his final round with two birdies and an eagle on the 5th hole. He maintained his momentum on the back nine with four more birdies, carding an impressive 64 (-8). Gerard kept the pressure on with a bogey-free 66 (-6), featuring six birdies, to force a playoff as both players finished at 22-under-par.
In the playoff, Schaper sealed the win in spectacular fashion, holing out a chip for eagle on the second extra hole while Gerard could only manage par. It marked Schaper’s second consecutive DP World Tour victory, both decided in playoffs.
Jayden Schaper: ‘I couldn’t have asked for anything better’
Following his win, an emotional Schaper reflected on his incredible run: ‘The last three weeks have been unbelievable. I don’t know what to say. It’s just crazy to finish a tournament like that. It’s been such a great week, such a great place, the support, the golf course—from start to finish. I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Christmas is going to be great this year, and so will the new year.’
Fellow South African Casey Jarvis secured third place after a steady week. His final round included four birdies and three bogeys, resulting in a 71.
Mixed results for German players on final day
Germany’s Marcel Siem and Marcel Schneider, who had kept pace with each other throughout the tournament, both struggled in the final round. Schneider began solidly but faltered on the back nine with three bogeys and a double bogey, finishing with a 78 and dropping to T37 at -4. Siem also had a tough day, with three birdies offset by two bogeys and three double bogeys, ending with a 76 and sharing 37th place with Schneider.
Nick Bachem, the third German to make the cut, shot even par on the final day to finish T48 at -1.
