Marcel Schneider and Marcel Siem delivered strong rounds on Saturday at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, entering the final day in contention.

On Moving Day at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open on the DP World Tour, both Marcel Schneider and Marcel Siem played excellent rounds to position themselves well for the final round. Schneider carded a six-under 66 to move into a tie for 9th, while Siem shot a four-under 68 to sit T14 heading into Sunday. At the top of the leaderboard are South Africa’s Casey Jarvis and American Ryan Gerard, both at 16-under-par. Gerard stole the show with a sensational round of 63.

DP World Tour: Schneider nearly flawless, Siem surges late

Marcel Schneider played a nearly flawless round to break into the top 10. He started his birdie run on hole 4, followed by back-to-back birdies on 5 and 6. Another birdie on 8 brought him to four-under before his only blemish of the day came on the 9th—his third bogey on that hole this week. Unfazed, the 35-year-old added three more birdies on holes 12, 13, and 14 to finish with a 66 and climb to T9.

Marcel Siem had a slower start, with a lone birdie on hole 3 marking the highlight of his front nine. A bogey on 10 set him back, but he bounced back with four consecutive birdies from holes 12 to 15. Despite a bogey on 16, he closed with a birdie on 18 to finish with a 68 and move into T14, keeping his hopes for a top finish alive.

Ryan Gerard surges to the top with birdie blitz

Ryan Gerard posted the round of the day with a stunning nine-under 63. After an early bogey on hole 2, he bounced back with birdies on 3, 5, 6, and 8 to go three-under at the turn. His back nine was electric, featuring five straight birdies from holes 12 to 16. He capped off his round with a tenth birdie on the 18th, vaulting him into a share of the lead at 16-under-par.
