Marcel Schneider and Marcel Siem delivered strong rounds on Moving Day at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open to stay in contention.

At the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open on the DP World Tour, both Marcel Schneider and Marcel Siem made significant moves on Saturday to position themselves well for the final round. Schneider carded a 6-under-par 66 to climb to T9, while Siem shot a 68 to sit at T14. The tournament is currently led by South Africa’s Casey Jarvis and American Ryan Gerard, both at 16-under-par. Gerard impressed with a standout 63.

DP World Tour: Schneider nearly flawless, Siem surges late

Marcel Schneider played a nearly flawless round to break into the top 10. He started his birdie run on hole 4 and followed it up with two more on holes 5 and 6. After another birdie on 8, his only blemish came on hole 9, where he made bogey for the third consecutive day. Unfazed, the 35-year-old added three more birdies on holes 12, 13, and 14 to finish the day at 6-under.

Marcel Siem had a slower start, with a lone birdie on hole 3. A bogey on hole 10 initially set him back, but he bounced back with four consecutive birdies from holes 12 to 15. Despite another bogey on 16, he closed with a birdie on 18 to finish with a 68. At T14, Siem remains in the hunt for a strong finish.

Ryan Gerard surges to the top with birdie streak

Ryan Gerard produced the round of the day with a sizzling 9-under-par 63. After an early bogey on hole 2, he rebounded with birdies on 3, 5, 6, and 8 to go 3-under on the front nine. The back nine saw a spectacular run of five straight birdies from holes 12 to 16. He capped off his round with a final birdie on 18, bringing his total to ten birdies for the day and earning a share of the lead.
