Rory McIlroy capped off 2025 with a Career Grand Slam—and received a unique Christmas gift from caddie Harry Diamond.
It’s been a landmark year for Rory McIlroy. In April, the Northern Irishman finally triumphed at The Masters at Augusta National, completing the elusive Career Grand Slam. McIlroy had previously won the PGA Championship in 2012 and 2014, the U.S. Open in 2011, and the Open Championship in 2014. While not part of the Grand Slam, he also celebrated his sixth Ryder Cup victory in September 2025. On December 18, McIlroy hopes to be named BBC Sports Personality of the Year.

McIlroy now joins this elite group of legends.
During an appearance on the \”Shotgun Start\” podcast, McIlroy shared the story behind the gift. Diamond had asked whether Rory would now add his own signature to the card. McIlroy laughed and replied, \”Absolutely not!\” He jokingly added that he hopes he won’t have to make room for another name next year, as Scottie Scheffler is just a U.S. Open win away from completing his own Grand Slam: “I just hope I don’t have to get Scottie to sign it next year,” McIlroy quipped.
