PGA Tour: Battle for Tour Cards Heats Up in Bermuda

The German players remain mid-field as the fight for PGA Tour cards intensifies at the top of the leaderboard. The Butterfield Bermuda Championship is shaping up to be a thrilling contest, with six players within one shot of the lead. Adam Schenk and Braden Thornberry share the top spot, both aiming to break into the top 100 of the FedExCup rankings to secure their PGA Tour cards for the 2026 season. Takumi Kanaya, currently tied for third, is also on the brink of the top 100, while Max McGreevy, sitting at 90th, hopes to solidify his position. The final round will be decisive for all players hoping to lock in their status for next year.

Schenk and Kanaya made the biggest moves in round three. Schenk posted a bogey-free 67, while Kanaya carded a 66. Thornberry, however, faces the most pressure — only a win will push him into the top 100. Schenk is also aware of the stakes: “I wish I had done this earlier in the season, then I wouldn’t be in this situation, but here we are,” he said after his round.

Thomas Rosenmüller also needs a win to crack the top 100 but remains in the middle of the pack. An eagle on the 17th helped him finish one-under-par and hold T24, though this position does little to boost his FedExCup standing, as he trails the leaders by eight shots.

Matti Schmid, who has already secured his Tour card, climbed to T32 with a 69. He overcame a bogey and a double bogey on his front nine and closed with two birdies to finish two-under. Jeremy Paul improved to T48 with a 70 after falling back in round two.
