Stewart Cink wins Charles Schwab Cup Championship finale

Stewart Cink claims the Charles Schwab Cup Championship title. Alex Cejka climbs to T6 while Bernhard Langer drops to 14th.

Stewart Cink secured victory at the Charles Schwab Cup Championship on Sunday with a bogey-free round of 67. The American’s four-under-par performance, featuring two birdies on both the front and back nine, allowed him to surpass Australian Steven Alker in both the tournament and the season-long Charles Schwab Cup standings. This marks Cink’s first overall title on the PGA Tour Champions.

Alker, who carded five birdies, was hindered by four bogeys, finishing with a 70—two strokes behind Cink. His back nine proved costly, with bogeys on holes 10 and 12 disrupting his momentum. A final attempt to force a playoff on the 18th hole ended in disappointment when his ball went out of bounds, forcing a drop and sealing his runner-up finish.

PGA Tour Champions: Cejka climbs, Langer slips

Alex Cejka delivered a strong final-round performance, shooting a 67 to finish T6. The 54-year-old played a flawless round without a single bogey, collecting three birdies on the front nine. After a steady stretch from holes 7 to 17, he capped off his round with another birdie on the 18th, finishing at four-under-par for the tournament.

Bernhard Langer, after three solid days, struggled in the final round with a 72, dropping to 14th place. He opened with three birdies in the first seven holes but was set back by bogeys on holes 3 and 9, making the turn at one-under. A birdie on 14 was followed by a costly double bogey on 15 and another bogey on 17, resulting in a one-over-par round and a disappointing finish despite a promising start.
