Battle for LPGA Tour Cards: Top German and International Stars at Q-School

At LPGA Q-School, international stars compete over 90 holes of stroke play for just 25 coveted tour cards. Five Germans are in the mix.

When the final stage of LPGA Q-School tees off at Magnolia Grove Golf Club in Mobile, Alabama, it’s all or nothing for many players. Over five grueling days and 90 holes of stroke play, only the top 25 and ties will earn their LPGA Tour cards. The field is stacked with experienced German pros and rising international talents.

German contenders: Experience meets rising talent

The German lineup features a mix of seasoned professionals and promising newcomers.

Sophie Hausmann arrives in strong form after three top-10 finishes on the Epson Tour, a win at the US Women’s Open qualifier, and a solid major appearance. With 13 cuts made in 20 Epson Tour starts, she stands out as a consistent performer and strong candidate for an LPGA card.

Isi Gabsa, 30, brings veteran experience. Like Hausmann, she qualified for the US Women’s Open and impressed on the Epson Tour with 16 cuts in 19 starts, including one top-10 and four top-20 finishes. Her consistency could be key in this marathon event.

Polly Mack already knows the path to the LPGA, having earned her card in 2023 (T15). This season, she made the cut in a third of her LPGA starts and posted strong LET results, including a top-10 in Korea and 12th in Houston.

Jordan Fischer is transitioning from college golf to the pro ranks. Recently turning pro, she enters Q-School with little experience at this level. It remains to be seen if she can handle the pressure of 90 holes against seasoned pros.

Helen Briem is considered one of Europe’s top young talents. Ranked 9th in the LET Order of Merit, she boasts seven top-10 finishes this season and heads to Alabama with confidence.

Austria’s Emma Spitz eyes LPGA breakthrough

Austria’s Emma Spitz, 25, is another strong contender. Ranked 19th in the LET Order of Merit, she has five top-10s including a third-place finish at the Tenerife Open, making her a serious threat for a tour card.
