Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen wins his first DP World Tour title in Melbourne and secures a Masters ticket after a thrilling finish against Cam Smith.
26-year-old Dane Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen claimed his maiden DP World Tour victory at the Royal Melbourne Golf Club, edging out local favorite Cam Smith in a dramatic final round. With this win, Neergaard-Petersen not only lifted the Stonehaven Cup as the Crown Australian Open champion but also earned a coveted invitation to the 2026 Masters at Augusta National. He carded a final-round 70 and had to wait nervously until the last putt to confirm his triumph. Smith, tied with Neergaard-Petersen heading into the 18th, faltered with a bogey to finish one shot behind.
Neergaard-Petersen’s final round included three bogeys and four birdies, finishing the day one under par and the tournament at 15-under. Cam Smith, despite a solid 69, missed out due to his bogey on the final hole, ending at 14-under. Si Woo Kim secured solo third at 13-under after a 70 that featured three birdies and two bogeys.
Si Woo Kim, Michael Hollick, and Adam Scott, who finished in the top five, also earned spots in the 2026 Open Championship at Royal Birkdale.

Germany’s Yannik Paul struggled, matching his Saturday 77 on Sunday to finish 72nd at 11-over. Freddy Schott missed the cut on Friday. Swiss player Joel Girrbach fared better, finishing T51 at even par.
