The 2026 golf season offers fans a packed calendar, featuring the prestigious men’s and women’s Majors, the Solheim Cup, and notable tournaments in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

Men’s Majors: Tradition, Prestige, and Iconic Venues

The men’s Major season kicks off April 9-12 with the legendary Masters at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia, USA. In 2025, Rory McIlroy became the sixth player and first European to complete a career Grand Slam by winning the Masters and will defend his title in 2026. The PGA Championship follows May 4-17 at Aronimink Golf Club in Pennsylvania. The summer continues with the US Open from June 18-21 at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in New York, where American J.J. Spaun won in 2025. The season closes with The Open Championship July 16-19 at Royal Birkdale Golf Club in Southport, England. Scottie Scheffler secured his second Major of the year at The Open after winning the PGA Championship.

Women’s Majors and the Solheim Cup

On the women’s side, the 2026 season starts with the Chevron Championship April 23-26 in Texas. About six weeks later, the US Women’s Open presented by Ally takes place June 4-7 at Riviera Country Club in California, where Maja Stark won her first Major and the first European title in 19 years in 2025. The KPMG Women’s PGA Championship follows June 25-28 at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Minnesota. July 9-12 features the Amundi Evian Championship in Evian-les-Bains, France, with the season concluding at the AIG Women’s Open July 30-August 2 at Royal Lytham & St. Annes Golf Club, England. The biennial Solheim Cup, the premier women’s team event, will be held September 11-13 at Bernardus Golf in Den Bosch, Netherlands, featuring stars like Anne Van Dam, Anna Nordqvist, Caroline Hedwall, and Mel Reid representing Team Europe.

Four Key Tournaments in the German-Speaking Region

Golf fans in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland can attend four significant tournaments. The DP World Tour comes to Kitzbühel with the Austrian Alpine Open May 28-31 at Golfclub Kitzbühel Schwarzsee-Reith and the BMW International Open July 2-5 at Golfclub München Eichenried, which featured 17 German-speaking players in 2025. On the Ladies European Tour, the Amundi German Masters takes place May 14-17 at the Nord Course of Green Eagle Golf Courses near Hamburg, promising excitement after five German players finished in the top 20 last season. The VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open rounds out the season August 13-15 at Migros Golfpark Holzhäusern in Switzerland.
