The 2025 golf season is coming to a close. We look back on the biggest highlight shots and unforgettable moments of the year – the annual review.
As the 2025 season ends, it’s time to look back. With the European Team’s Ryder Cup success, Rory McIlroy’s Grand Slam, and many other highlights, there is much to remember this year. Often, individual shots leading to these victories are overlooked, yet they can be as spectacular as the achievements themselves. This year again brought legendary shots that players and fans will remember for a long time.
Rory McIlroy’s Shot on Hole 15 at the Masters
Probably the most legendary shot of the year happened on the 15th hole at the Masters. Rory McIlroy was tied with Justin Rose and Ludvig Aberg after 14 holes. His drive veered slightly left, leaving a tree between him and the green for his second shot on the par-5 hole. While most players would play it safe to secure par, McIlroy took a high-risk, huge draw shot towards the green, placing the ball just beside the pin. This shot displayed not only his skill but also his incredible determination to finally win the Masters and complete the career Grand Slam this year.

Patrick Reed’s Albatross at the U.S. Open Makes Golf History
Oakmont is known as one of the world’s toughest golf courses, and the U.S. Open is a tournament where shooting under par already gives you a chance to win. Patrick Reed’s incredible albatross on the 4th hole at this year’s U.S. Open was a spectacular moment. On the 568-meter par-5, he took his fairway wood for his second shot and holed it from 261 meters for an albatross. It was only the fourth in U.S. Open history and the first ever at Oakmont.
