The 2025 golf season is coming to an end. We look back on the greatest highlight shots and memorable moments of the year – a comprehensive review.
As the 2025 season wraps up, it’s time to reflect on the remarkable moments. From the European Team’s Ryder Cup triumph and Rory McIlroy’s Grand Slam pursuit to many other highlights, there is much to remember. Often, the shots leading to these successes are as spectacular as the victories themselves. This year, legendary shots were made that will long be cherished by players and fans alike.
Rory McIlroy’s Iconic Shot on Hole 15 at The Masters
Arguably the most legendary shot of the year took place on the 15th hole at The Masters. After 14 holes, Rory McIlroy was tied with Justin Rose and Ludvig Aberg. His tee shot veered slightly left, leaving a tree between him and the green on this Par 5. While most players would have played safe to secure par, McIlroy took full risk, hitting a huge draw towards the green, landing just next to the pin. This shot demonstrated not only the Northern Irishman’s skill but also his incredible determination to finally win The Masters and complete the Career Grand Slam this year.

Patrick Reed Makes Golf History with Albatross at the US Open
Oakmont is known as one of the toughest golf courses globally and the US Open as a tournament where a round under par offers chances to win. At the 2025 US Open, Patrick Reed’s incredible shot on the 4th hole stood out. On this 568-meter Par 5, he took his fairway wood for his second shot and hit the ball 261 meters straight into the hole for an albatross. It was only the fourth albatross in US Open history and the first ever at Oakmont.
