The 2025 golf season is drawing to a close. We look back at the year’s greatest highlight shots and unforgettable moments – the year in review.
As the 2025 season ends, it’s time to reflect. With the European team’s Ryder Cup victory, Rory McIlroy’s Grand Slam achievement, and many other highlights, there is plenty to remember from this year. Rarely do we think about the individual shots that led to these successes, yet these shots are often as spectacular as the victories themselves. This year, too, there were legendary shots that players and fans will remember for a long time.
Rory McIlroy’s Shot on Hole 15 at the Masters
Probably the most legendary shot of the year happened on hole 15 at the Masters. After 14 holes, Rory McIlroy was tied with Justin Rose and Ludvig Aberg. His tee shot went slightly left, leaving a tree between him and the green before his second shot on the par-5 hole. While most players would have played it safe to secure par, McIlroy went all in with a massive draw aiming for the green, landing the ball just beside the pin. This shot not only demonstrated his skill but also his determination to finally win the Masters and complete the Career Grand Slam this year.

Patrick Reed Makes Golf History with Albatross at the US Open
Oakmont is one of the toughest golf courses in the world, and the US Open is a tournament where shooting under par often gives you a chance to win. Patrick Reed’s incredible albatross on the fourth hole at this year’s US Open was stunning. On the 568-meter par-5, he used his fairway wood for his second shot and holed it from 261 meters, marking only the fourth albatross in US Open history and the first ever at Oakmont.
