2025 Year in Review: The Best and Most Unforgettable Shots of the Year

The 2025 season is coming to an end. We look back at the year’s most spectacular shots and unforgettable moments – the 2025 year in review.

As the 2025 season wraps up, it’s time to reflect on the highlights. From the European Team’s Ryder Cup victory and Rory McIlroy’s Grand Slam to many other memorable moments, there’s plenty to remember this year. Often, individual shots leading to these successes are overlooked, yet they are as impressive as the achievements themselves. This year again provided legendary shots that players and fans will cherish for a long time.

Rory McIlroy’s Shot on the 15th at The Masters

Arguably the most iconic shot of the year came at the 15th hole during The Masters. After 14 holes, Rory McIlroy was tied with Justin Rose and Ludvig Aberg. His tee shot veered slightly left, leaving a tree between him and the green on this par-5. While most players might have chosen a safer shot to improve position and secure par, McIlroy took a huge risk, executing a massive draw aimed at the green, landing the ball just near the pin. This shot not only demonstrated McIlroy’s skill but also his immense determination to win The Masters and complete the career Grand Slam in 2025.

Patrick Reed Makes History with Albatross at the US Open

Oakmont is known as one of the toughest golf courses worldwide, and the US Open is a tournament where even one under par can contend for the title. Patrick Reed’s shot on the fourth hole at this year’s US Open was incredible. On the 568-meter par-5, Reed used his fairway wood for his second shot from 261 meters out and holed it for an albatross. This was only the fourth albatross in US Open history and the very first at Oakmont.
