2025 Year in Review: The Best and Most Unbelievable Shots of the Year

The 2025 golf season is ending. We look back at the year’s biggest highlight shots and unforgettable moments – the yearly review.

As the 2025 season comes to a close, it’s time to look back. From the European team’s Ryder Cup victory, Rory McIlroy’s Grand Slam achievements, to many more highlights, there is much to remember this year. Rarely do we focus on the exact shots that led to these successes, yet these shots are often as spectacular as the achievements themselves. This year again brought legendary shots that players and fans will remember for a long time.

Rory McIlroy’s Iconic Shot on Hole 15 at the Masters

Perhaps the most legendary shot of the year took place on hole 15 at the Masters. After 14 holes, Rory McIlroy was tied with Justin Rose and Ludvig Aberg. His tee shot veered slightly left, leaving a tree between him and the green for his second shot on this par-5 hole. While most players would have played it safe to secure a par, McIlroy took a full-risk shot with an enormous draw toward the green, landing the ball just beside the pin. This shot not only showcased McIlroy’s skill but also his incredible determination to finally win the Masters and complete the Career Grand Slam in 2025.

Patrick Reed Makes Golf History with Albatross at the US Open

Oakmont is known as one of the toughest golf courses in the world, and the US Open is a tournament where shooting under par can already give you a chance at the title. Even more incredible was Patrick Reed’s performance on the fourth hole at this year’s US Open. On the 568-meter par-5, Reed used his fairway wood for his second shot and holed it from 261 meters for an albatross. This was just the fourth albatross in US Open history and the very first ever at Oakmont.
