2025 Year in Review: The Best and Most Remarkable Shots of the Year

The 2025 season comes to an end. We look back at the greatest highlight shots of the year and recall the unique events of 2025 – the year in review.

As the 2025 season wraps up, it’s time to reflect. With the European team’s Ryder Cup success, Rory McIlroy’s Grand Slam, and many other highlights, there is much to remember. Rarely are the individual shots that led to these achievements the main focus, despite often being as spectacular as the victories themselves. This year again featured legendary shots that both players and fans will remember for a long time.

Rory McIlroy’s Shot on Hole 15 at the Masters

Perhaps the most legendary shot of the year came at the 15th hole of the Masters. After 14 holes, Rory McIlroy was tied with Justin Rose and Ludvig Aberg. His drive veered slightly left, leaving a tree between him and the green for his second shot on the par 5. While most players might have played it safe to secure par, McIlroy took a big risk, hitting a massive draw toward the green, landing the ball just next to the flag. This shot showcased not only McIlroy’s skill but also his incredible determination this year to finally win the Masters and complete the Career Grand Slam.

Patrick Reed Makes Golf History with Albatross at the US Open

Oakmont is known as one of the toughest golf courses in the world, and the US Open is a tournament where a round under par already gives a chance at the title. Even more incredible was Patrick Reed’s fourth hole at this year’s US Open. On the 568-meter par-5, he took out his fairway wood for the second shot and holed from 261 meters for an albatross. This was only the fourth albatross in US Open history and the first ever at Oakmont.
