2025 Year in Review: The Best and Most Unforgettable Shots of the Year

The 2025 golf season is coming to an end. We look back at the biggest highlight shots and unforgettable moments of the year – the year in review.

As the 2025 season concludes, it’s time to reflect. From the European team’s Ryder Cup victory and Rory McIlroy’s Grand Slam chase to many other highlights, there is plenty to remember. Often, the individual shots leading to these achievements are just as spectacular as the successes themselves. This year, there were again legendary shots that players and fans alike will remember for a long time.

Rory McIlroy’s Shot on the 15th Hole at the Masters

Arguably the most legendary shot of the year came at the 15th hole of the Masters. Rory McIlroy was tied with Justin Rose and Ludvig Aberg after 14 holes. His tee shot veered slightly left, leaving him with a tree between him and the green on this par-5 hole. While most players would have aimed to improve position and settle for par, McIlroy took a full-risk shot, drawing the ball magnificently toward the green, landing it just near the flag. This shot demonstrated both his skill and his incredible determination to finally win the Masters and complete the Career Grand Slam this year.

Patrick Reed Makes Golf History with Albatross at US Open

Oakmont is known as one of the toughest golf courses globally, and the US Open is a tournament where even a round under par offers a chance for the title. Patrick Reed’s incredible shot at the 4th hole during this year’s US Open stood out. On this 568-meter par-5, he used his fairway wood for his second shot and aced the ball from 261 meters, scoring an albatross. It was only the fourth albatross in US Open history and the first ever at Oakmont.
