The 2025 season is coming to an end. We look back at the biggest highlight shots of the year and remember the unique events of 2025 – The Year in Review.
As the 2025 season concludes, it is time to reflect. With the European Team’s Ryder Cup success, Rory McIlroy’s Grand Slam, and many other highlights, there is much to remember this year. Often, the focus is on the victories rather than the shots that led to these triumphs. However, these shots are often as spectacular as the wins themselves. This year brought legendary shots that players and fans will remember for a long time.
Rory McIlroy’s Shot on Hole 15 at the Masters
Probably the most legendary shot of the year took place on hole 15 at the Masters. After 14 holes, Rory McIlroy was tied with Justin Rose and Ludvig Aberg. His tee shot went slightly left, leaving a tree between him and the green on this par-5 hole. While most players would have played it safe to improve their position and secure a par, McIlroy took a huge risk with a massive draw towards the green, landing the ball just beside the pin. This shot showcased not only the Northern Irishman’s skill but also his incredible determination this year to finally win the Masters and complete the Career Grand Slam.

Patrick Reed Makes Golf History with Albatross at the US Open
Oakmont is known as one of the most difficult golf courses in the world, and the US Open is a tournament where a round under par is often enough to contend for the title. Patrick Reed’s incredible fourth hole at this year’s US Open was a stunning moment. At the 568-meter par-5, he took a fairway wood for his second shot and holed it from 261 meters for an albatross. This was only the fourth albatross in US Open history and the first ever at Oakmont.
