2025 Year in Review: The Best and Most Remarkable Shots of the Year

The 2025 season is coming to an end. We look back at the greatest highlight shots of the year and remember the unique moments of 2025 – the year in review. As the 2025 season concludes, it is time to reflect. With the European Team’s Ryder Cup victory, Rory McIlroy’s Grand Slam, and many other highlights, there is plenty to remember this year. Often, the individual shots that lead to these successes are overlooked, yet these shots are often as spectacular as the wins themselves. This year, there were again legendary shots that both players and fans will recall for a long time.

Rory McIlroy’s Masterful Shot on the 15th at the Masters

Probably the most legendary shot of the year came this year at the 15th hole of the Masters. Rory McIlroy was tied after 14 holes with Justin Rose and Ludvig Aberg. His tee shot went slightly left, leaving the Northern Irishman with a tree between him and the hole for his second shot on this par 5. While most players would have played it safe to improve position and secure par, McIlroy went all in, hitting a massive draw towards the green, landing the ball just next to the flag. This shot not only showed McIlroy’s skill but also his incredible will to finally win the Masters and complete the Career Grand Slam this year.

Patrick Reed Makes Golf History with an Albatross at the US Open

Oakmont is known as one of the toughest golf courses in the world, and the US Open is a tournament where scoring under par is already a strong chance for the title. Against this backdrop, Patrick Reed’s fourth hole at this year’s US Open was incredible. On the 568-meter par-5, he took his fairway wood for his second shot and holed out from 261 meters for an albatross. This was only the fourth albatross in US Open history and the first ever at Oakmont.
