2025 Year in Review: The Best and Most Remarkable Shots of the Year

The 2025 season is ending. Let’s look back at the most outstanding shots and unforgettable moments of the year – a comprehensive year in review.

As the 2025 season concludes, it’s time to reflect. With the European Team’s Ryder Cup victory, Rory McIlroy’s Grand Slam, and many other highlights, there is much to remember. Often the individual shots that led to these successes are overlooked, though many were as spectacular as the achievements themselves. This year again featured legendary shots that players and fans will remember for a long time.

Rory McIlroy’s Shot on No. 15 at the Masters

Probably the year’s most legendary shot came at the Masters’ 15th hole. After 14 holes, McIlroy was tied with Justin Rose and Ludvig Aberg. His tee shot went slightly left, leaving a tree between him and the hole for his second shot on the par-5 hole. While most would play safe to save par, McIlroy took a full-risk draw shot toward the green, landing the ball close to the flag. This shot not only demonstrated his skill but also his incredible determination to finally win the Masters and complete the Career Grand Slam this year.

Patrick Reed Makes Golf History with Albatross at the US Open

Oakmont is known as one of the toughest golf courses worldwide, and the US Open is a tournament where a round under par already gives a chance at the title. Patrick Reed’s shot on the fourth hole at this year’s US Open was incredible. On the 568-meter par-5, he used his fairway wood on the second shot and holed the ball from 261 meters for an albatross. It was only the fourth albatross in US Open history and the first ever on Oakmont.
