2025 Golf Year in Review: The Best and Most Remarkable Shots

The 2025 season is coming to a close. We look back on the greatest highlight shots of the year and remember the unique events of 2025 – The Year in Review.

As the 2025 season ends, it is time to reflect. With the European Team’s Ryder Cup victory, Rory McIlroy’s Grand Slam, and many other highlights, there is plenty to recall from this year. Rarely do we think of the individual shots that led to these successes, even though the shots themselves are often as spectacular as the achievements. This year again produced legendary shots that players and fans alike will remember for a long time.

Rory McIlroy’s Shot on the 15th at the Masters

Arguably the most legendary shot of the year came on the 15th hole of the Masters. Rory McIlroy was tied with Justin Rose and Ludvig Aberg after 14 holes. His tee shot veered slightly to the left, leaving a tree between him and the hole on this par-5. While most players would have played conservatively to secure par, McIlroy took full risk, hitting a massive draw towards the green and landing the ball just beside the flag. This shot showcased not only McIlroy’s skill but also his incredible determination to finally win the Masters and complete the Career Grand Slam in 2025.

Patrick Reed Makes Golf History with Albatross at the U.S. Open

Oakmont is known as one of the toughest golf courses globally, and the U.S. Open is an event where a round under par can already give a chance at victory. Even more incredible was Patrick Reed’s feat on the fourth hole of this year’s U.S. Open. On the 568-meter par-5, he took his fairway wood for his second stroke and holed out from 261 meters for an albatross. This was only the fourth albatross in U.S. Open history and the first ever at Oakmont.
