2025 Year in Review: The Best and Most Remarkable Golf Shots

The 2025 golf season wraps up. We look back at the biggest highlight shots and unforgettable moments of the year – the annual review.

As the 2025 season ends, it is time to look back. With highlights such as the European Team’s Ryder Cup victory, Rory McIlroy’s Grand Slam, and many more, there is much to remember this year. Often, people forget the individual shots that led to these triumphs, even though these shots are as spectacular as the successes themselves. This year again delivered legendary shots that players and fans will remember for a long time.

Rory McIlroy’s Shot on 15 at the Masters

Probably the most legendary shot of the year came at the 15th hole of the Masters. Rory McIlroy was tied with Justin Rose and Ludvig Aberg after 14 holes. His tee shot went slightly left, leaving a tree between him and the green for his second shot on this par-5 hole. While most players would have played it safe to improve position and secure par, McIlroy risked everything, hitting a huge draw towards the green and landed the ball just next to the pin. This shot showcased not only the Northern Irishman’s skill but also his incredible determination to finally win the Masters and complete the career Grand Slam this year.

Patrick Reed Makes Golf History with Albatross at the US Open

Oakmont is considered one of the toughest golf courses globally, and the US Open is a tournament where even under-par rounds offer a chance to win. Patrick Reed’s incredible fourth hole at this year’s US Open was unforgettable. On the 568-meter par-5, he used his fairway wood for the second shot and made a 261-meter hole-in-one albatross. It was only the fourth albatross in US Open history and the first ever at Oakmont.
