2025 Year in Review: The Best and Most Remarkable Shots of the Year

The 2025 season is coming to an end. We look back at the year’s biggest highlight shots and remember the unique moments of 2025 – The Year in Review.

As the 2025 season concludes, it is time to reflect. From the European Team’s Ryder Cup victory, Rory McIlroy’s Grand Slam achievements, to many more highlights, there is plenty to remember from this year. Often, the individual shots that led to such successes are overlooked, yet they are as spectacular as the victories themselves. This year again featured legendary shots that both players and fans will remember for a long time.

Rory McIlroy’s Hole 15 at the Masters

Probably the most legendary shot of the year came at the 15th hole of the Masters. Rory McIlroy was tied after 14 holes with Justin Rose and Ludvig Aberg. His drive went slightly left, leaving a tree between him and the green for his second shot on this Par 5 hole. While most players would have played it safe to improve position and secure par, McIlroy took full risk, hitting a massive fade toward the green, landing just beside the pin. This shot not only showcased the Northern Irishman’s skill but also his incredible determination to finally win the Masters and complete the Career Grand Slam in 2025.

Patrick Reed Makes Golf History with Albatross at the U.S. Open

Oakmont is known as one of the toughest golf courses in the world, and the U.S. Open is a tournament where scoring under par is already a challenge. Thus, Patrick Reed’s incredible second shot on the 568-meter Par-5 4th hole at the 2025 U.S. Open was historic. Using his fairway wood from 261 meters out, he holed out for an albatross – only the fourth in U.S. Open history and the first ever at Oakmont.
