Tiger Woods’ 50th birthday party in January features a star-studded guest list, top music act, and a title sponsor.
Tiger Woods turned 50 on December 30th, and the occasion is being celebrated in grand style. His foundation is hosting a large party on January 14th with an exclusive guest list, a star act, and even a title sponsor, reports Front Office Sports.
The Occasion
When a golf legend like Tiger Woods turns 50, it has to be celebrated in style. Under the motto “RED: Celebrating Legacy,” the milestone birthday will be celebrated exuberantly with around 300 guests. The party takes place at the luxury resort The Breakers in Palm Beach, Florida. The event is organized by Woods’ foundation, the TGR Foundation, aiming to celebrate Tiger Woods’ achievements on and off the golf course while also looking to the future. The guest list includes friends such as Justin Thomas and Woods’ long-time caddie Joe LaCava, as well as other big names from the sports world.
The Theme
The evening will be dedicated to the birthday honoree. The dress code is “a touch of red,” in memory of the iconic final outfit of the 15-time major winner, which also inspired his own clothing line. The evening’s menu is inspired by the meals Tiger served at the Champions Dinner after his five Masters victories. This may include elements inspired by the McDonald’s-style menu of his first Masters win, when Woods served cheeseburgers, fries, and milkshakes. A performance by Jon Bon Jovi rounds off the evening, which even has its own sponsor: the accounting firm Ernst & Young is presenting the event.
A Worthy Cause
However, the event is not only to celebrate 50 years of Tiger Woods’ life but also marks the 30th anniversary of his foundation. The TGR Foundation aims to raise $50 million at the event to support the expansion of TGR Learning Labs, which offer free STEAM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics), career-related programs, and wellness activities for middle and high school students.
