TGL kicks off its second season with a rematch between Atlanta Drive GC and New York Golf Club at the SoFi Center.
The opening match of TGL Season 2 revisits the showdown that concluded the inaugural season. On December 28, Atlanta Drive GC and New York Golf Club face off once again after their thrilling finale last year. Atlanta, who won both final matches by a single point, enters the new season as reigning champions. Before the first tee shot, the championship banner will be raised to the rafters, followed by a match in the familiar format featuring triples and singles segments. Both teams start with three Hammers, with Atlanta teeing off on the first hole. The lineups feature familiar names: Cameron Young, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Xander Schauffele for New York; Patrick Cantlay, Lucas Glover, and Billy Horschel for Atlanta.
Atlanta Drive GC Builds on Proven Strengths
Atlanta Drive GC enters the new TGL season with strong stats from last year. The team excelled in singles play, earning the most Hammer points league-wide. Billy Horschel led the league in singles points won, while Patrick Cantlay remained undefeated in singles matchups against New York. Lucas Glover stood out with a flawless fairway hit rate. New York Golf Club rebounded from an 0–2 start to make the playoffs, with Cameron Young leading all players in points and showcasing his power off the tee.
New Course Features Enhance Strategy
With the new season, TGL has made several technical upgrades to the playing field. The GreenZone has been significantly expanded, allowing for more pin positions and varied putting lines. Additional actuators beneath the turf create adjustable contours, increasing tactical possibilities. The hole catalog has also been updated, introducing new holes like Stone & Steeple, Stinger, and Cenote. Team-themed holes such as Fore-0-Fore for Atlanta and Big Apple for New York round out the 15 specially designed holes in play.
