TGL returns with a rematch between Atlanta Drive GC and New York Golf Club to open the new season at the SoFi Center.
The second TGL season begins with a familiar showdown between Atlanta Drive GC and New York Golf Club, reprising the final matchup of the inaugural campaign. On December 28, the two teams will face off once again, with Atlanta entering as the reigning champions after narrowly winning both final matches by a single point. Before the first tee shot, the championship banner will be raised to the rafters, followed by the match played in the standard format featuring Triples and Singles segments. Both teams start with three Hammers, and Atlanta will tee off first. Star-studded lineups return: Cameron Young, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Xander Schauffele for New York; Patrick Cantlay, Lucas Glover, and Billy Horschel for Atlanta.
Atlanta Drive GC brings proven strengths
Atlanta Drive GC enters the new season with strong metrics from last year. The team excelled in Singles play, leading the league in Hammer points. Billy Horschel topped the league in Singles points won, Patrick Cantlay remained undefeated in head-to-head Singles against New York, and Lucas Glover impressed with a flawless fairway accuracy. New York Golf Club rebounded from an 0–2 start to make the playoffs, with Cameron Young leading all players in total points and showcasing his power off the tee.
New tech and course updates for TGL
The new season also brings changes to the playing field. The GreenZone has been expanded, offering more pin positions and varied putting lines. Additional actuators beneath the turf now allow for adjustable contours, increasing tactical possibilities. The hole catalog has been updated as well, introducing new holes like Stone & Steeple, Stinger, and Cenote. Team-specific holes such as Fore-0-Fore for Atlanta and Big Apple for New York also make their debut. A total of 15 specially designed holes will be played.
