TGL: Atlanta Drive GC Extends Winning Streak Over The Bay GC

Atlanta Drive GC wins an exciting TGL match 7-4 against The Bay GC and remains unbeaten.

The roles before the third match of the new TGL season were clearly defined: defending champion Atlanta Drive GC came into the SoFi Center with an opening victory, while The Bay Golf Club was making its debut in the new season. After 15 holes, the final score was 7-4. The decisive lead was secured by the team featuring Billy Horschel, Patrick Cantlay, and substitute Chris Gotterup, who collected four of six possible points in the singles format. After an even start, Atlanta pulled ahead from hole 11. “We come in here, train, play our game – it fits,” said Horschel. Despite the absence of the injured Justin Thomas, the team runs well, showing strong depth in the squad. This marked their ninth win in the last ten TGL matches – an impressive record.

TGL: Gotterup Brings Atlanta Back into the Match

For the second consecutive match, Chris Gotterup appeared on the scoreboard for Atlanta and was once again a key factor. After a scoreless start on hole 1, he put Atlanta ahead with a par putt from nearly nine feet on hole 2. The Bay responded on the following holes with hammer plays, briefly leading 2-1. The first significant momentum shift came on hole 6, known as \”Alpine,\” where Gotterup made a chip-in eagle to level the match. Although The Bay did not use the hammer there, the emotional impact was clear: the score was tied. \”I try to see as much as possible on the greens – it’s not easy with all the lighting,\” Gotterup later said. \”But when you make those putts, you know what to expect.\”
