TGL Golf Stars Share Their New Year’s Resolutions for 2026 Season

At the turn of the year, TGL reveals personal New Year’s resolutions from its star players before their matchday.

Entering its second season, TGL continues its innovative approach: six teams, each with four top PGA Tour players, compete in a 3-on-3 format. Matches are played indoors at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, a nearly 250,000-square-foot high-tech complex with seating for around 1,600 spectators. Instead of traditional 18-hole rounds, matches consist of 15 holes divided into two segments: nine holes of alternate shot play (“Triples”) and six in direct singles competition (“Singles”). The season features five regular matches per team, followed by playoffs with semifinals and a best-of-three final. Points are awarded following an NHL-style system, including overtime bonuses.

Coffee, Character, Continuity: TGL’s New Year Outlook

This stage brings familiar faces together on the course, as TGL shares insights into their players’ resolutions at the start of the new season. These range from small personal goals to more significant aspirations. Chris Gotterup took a practical approach: making coffee at home instead of visiting Starbucks or Dunkin’ daily. The machine is ready, but operation is yet to be mastered. Billy Horschel aimed higher, aspiring to be a better version of himself, especially off the course.

Xander Schauffele Prefers No Resolutions

Xander Schauffele kept it brief. “I don’t do that. I’m just me,” he said dryly, embodying the type who shuns the spotlight. Horschel was impressed: “We all wish we were Xander,” he joked. Schauffele replied, “I don’t know … maybe you’d be happier.”

Michael Thorbjornsen expressed a clear wish: to compete in more tournaments with Collin Morikawa. Morikawa liked the idea but had no resolution yet. Sahith Theegala was straightforward: “Stay healthy. Play well.” Justin Rose reflected on his past unresolved resolutions and aimed to change that: “No more years failing to keep my resolutions.”
