Tiger Woods is making headlines once again, and this time, it has nothing to do with his game on the course. The 15-time major champion is rumored to be in a relationship with Vanessa Trump, the ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr. Reports suggest that they have been seeing each other for several months.

Rumors Surrounding Tiger Woods and Vanessa Trump

Woods is no stranger to the public eye—whether for his triumphs on the golf course or his personal life. Now, his name is back in the spotlight, and this time, it’s not about birdies or bogeys. According to reports from DailyMail and People Magazine, Woods has been linked to Vanessa Trump, the former wife of Donald Trump Jr. The two reportedly live just 20 minutes apart in Florida and have been spotted together on multiple occasions, including at golf tournaments. However, no official confirmation has been made. Insiders claim the pair is taking things slowly and prefers to keep their relationship private for now.

Vanessa Trump, who divorced Donald Trump Jr. in 2018 after 12 years of marriage, has largely stayed out of the public eye since. Woods, on the other hand, has had several high-profile romances, most recently with Erica Herman. Now, it seems he and Vanessa Trump may be more than just acquaintances.

A Shared Connection Through Golf

One thing the two certainly have in common is a deep connection to golf. Vanessa’s daughter, Kai, is an aspiring golfer who is set to play for the University of Miami. Meanwhile, Woods’ children, Sam and Charlie, have grown up around the sport and even attend the same school as Kai.

According to DailyMail, Woods and Trump have been spending significant time together, particularly at Woods’ estate on Jupiter Island. While they are not living together, Vanessa is said to be a frequent visitor. The couple has chosen to keep a low public profile—for now.

On-Course Challenges for Woods

While his personal life is making waves, Woods is facing setbacks in his professional career. Just recently, news broke that he has suffered an Achilles injury, putting his hopes for the Masters in jeopardy. This comes as another blow after he had been gearing up for yet another comeback.

Adding to his challenges, Woods is dealing with a significant personal loss. In early February, his mother, Kultida, passed away at the age of 81. Woods has often credited her as his greatest supporter and a key influence in his career.

Next meeting with Trump: The future of golf will be decided at the White House

Prove what had to be proven: 2025 is the year in which the world’s order is being rearranged. On a large scale – politically, economically, socially – and on a small scale, in golf, for example. And everything stands and falls with the disruptor, the self-proclaimed big shot in the White House, who wants to put his stamp on everything that is of interest and useful to him on this globe. Golf, anyway. Donald Trump may not have settled the tug-of-war between the Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund PIF and the PGA Tour for an investment in the commercial venture PGA Tour Enterprises within 15 minutes, as he once boasted. But negotiations have progressed at a breathtaking pace since Agent Orange returned to the Oval Office – not least because the parties are hoping for The Donald’s diktat for the U.S. Department of Justice. Last Thursday, a delegation of the establishment was again with the president, Commissioner Jay Monahan and player representative Adam Scott, who had already been heard the other day, as well as Tiger Woods, who had been unable to attend the previous time – and PIF boss Yasir Al-Rumayyan, which was the biggest news item of the meeting.

After the hours-long meeting, the PGA Tour released the usual blah-blah statement and spoke meaninglessly of a “constructive working session”. What was significant, of course, was not only that Trump’s “leadership” was once again praised, but that Al-Rumayyan was consistently and respectfully referred to as “His Excellency”. Monahan has sounded different before, but now it is time to bow down before the new balance of power and Trump’s presidential and private economic ties with the Saudis.

The president, in turn, took advantage of Woods’ presence and celebrated a high-profile joint appearance with the 15-time major winner on the occasion of National Black History Month, which, in view of Trump’s otherwise openly displayed racism, is not without a certain irony. At a dinner for the governors of the US states the next day, the president then declared: “There is a good chance that we will make it. I think there is a very good chance.”

However and whenever it happens, one thing is clear: the future of golf will be defined and decided in the White House – and everything points to it being decided soon. If Trump puts the brakes on the Department of Justice, the only sticking point remaining is the future and staffing of the LIV league, which Al-Rumayyan apparently wants to hold on to.

The latest rumor was spread by Rex Hoggard from the “Golf Channel”. He claims to have learned from a LIV’ler that professionals from the rival circuit will be allowed to compete in the Players Championship (March 11-16) on the PGA Tour, of all things at their flagship event. However, the fact that the LIV event in Singapore is scheduled for that weekend speaks against this.

TGL Los Angeles Golf Club: Star Power and Experience Combined in California

The TGL is in the starting blocks and the Los Angeles Golf Club is getting ready for its launch in January. Founded by Alexis Ohanian, the co-founder of Reddit, the team is aiming to establish the new league as a pioneering golf innovation in Los Angeles. “Los Angeles is the perfect home for our TGL team. This city embodies the intersection of sports, technology, and entertainment, making it an ideal backdrop for the innovation and excitement we aim to bring to the world of golf and its fans,” explains Ohanian. The aim is to make golf accessible to everyone.

TGL: The Players at Los Angeles Golf Club

The team is made up of Collin Morikawa, Sahith Theegala, Justin Rose and Tommy Fleetwood and combines experience, star power and numerous successes.

Collin Morikawa, a native of Los Angeles, is a two-time major winner. In addition to his major successes, he has won several tournaments on the PGA Tour and won the 2021 Race to Dubai.

Sahith Theegala, who also grew up in California, has been playing on the PGA Tour since 2022. He has already won a title there and achieved several top 5 finishes.

The LAGC also has a very experienced player in Justin Rose. The Englishman turned professional in 1998 and has enjoyed numerous successes since then. His outstanding achievements include five Ryder Cup appearances, winning the 2016 Olympic gold medal and eleven titles on the PGA Tour. As a former world number one, Rose is one of the most consistent players of his generation.

Like Rose, the fourth team player, Tommy Fleetwood, comes from England. Fleetwood has already proven his strength in team events on several occasions. His match at the 2023 Ryder Cup was the deciding point. While he has already celebrated several victories on the DP World Tour, he has so far been denied a title on the PGA Tour, although he has already finished second and third there several times.

Cohen Private Ventures recently announced that the New York Golf Club is backed by a group of prominent investors, including Derek Jeter and CC Sabathia (both former professional baseball players), John McEnroe (former tennis player), Eli Manning and Michael Strahan (both former NFL players) and Jimmy Fallon. The New York Golf Club is one of the teams in the TGL, a golf league founded by Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and Mike McCarley. Steve A. Cohen, known as the owner of the New York Mets, acquired the rights to the team in September 2023.

TGL New York Golf Club: The Players

The player line-up includes PGA Tour players Xander Schauffele, Matt Fitzpatrick, Cameron Young, and Rickie Fowler. This line-up was announced back in April 2024 and combines experience, success and team spirit.

World number two Xander Schauffele can look back on an outstanding 2024 season: with victories at the PGA Championship and the Open Championship, he secured two major titles and cemented his reputation as one of the best players in the world. Schauffele already won the Olympic gold medal in 2020 and has been consistently in the top 10 of the world rankings for years.

Matt Fitzpatrick, also a major winner, triumphed at the U.S. Open in 2022. He has also enjoyed several successes on the PGA Tour, most recently winning the RBC Heritage 2023, as well as on the DP World Tour.

Cameron Young brings a breath of fresh air to the team as a rookie. The native New Yorker was named Rookie of the Year in 2022 and impressed with several top 10 finishes on the PGA Tour. He narrowly missed out on victory at the 2022 Open Championship.

Rickie Fowler has been active on the PGA Tour since 2009 and has achieved several victories and numerous top 10 finishes in those years. Having played in five Ryder Cups and three Presidents Cups, he has plenty of experience in the team format. For Fowler, the team game is a special affair of the heart in which he always gives his all with passion.

The Team at the Tonight Show

In November, the four team members paid a visit to Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show in New York to talk to the new investor about TGL.

A video released by the PGA Tour shows highlights of the New York TGL team members’ visit to New York City. Among other things, they can be seen hitting balls in the simulator and talking to new investor and former NFL quarterback Eli Manning at a press event.

TGL was originally scheduled to start in 2024, but the start date has now been set for January 7, 2025. The schedule has also been finalized. In the innovative league, six teams of PGA Tour players will compete against each other in matches. Each match lasts around two hours and is played in a specially designed simulator arena in Palm Beach, Florida. The arena features a giant screen, virtual putting greens and a live audience.

Legal dispute: Tiger Woods is in trouble with his new outfit label Sun Day Red. The company Tigeraire from Baton Rouge/Louisiana has filed a trademark lawsuit against the 15-time major winner, Sun Day Red and the outfit manufacturer TaylorMade.

Tiger Woods’ Logo is Claimed to Confuse Consumers

According to Tigeraire, which manufactures cooling systems for the sports sector, such as ventilation systems for football helmets, the trademark, which has existed since 2020, is being blatantly ignored, protected trademark rights and brand identity are being infringed and consumer confusion is being created: the application to register Sun Day Red’s trademark must therefore be rejected. Tigeraire refers to the similarities and likelihood of confusion between the logos of the two companies, which each show a stylised tiger. David Abeles, CEO of TaylorMade, commented on the process: ‘We have full confidence in the protection of our brand.’

Insight: A few weeks ago, production began on the long-awaited sequel to the golfing comedy Happy Gilmore; filming is mainly taking place in New York. And so it can happen that you open your front door in the morning and witness lead actor Adam Sandler shuffling around in his bathrobe, lugging a golf bag with him. This is exactly what happened to ‘TikTok’ user Ariana Hailand, who of course immediately shared this very special sighting with the world:

Some time ago, Christopher McDonald aka Shooter McGavin revealed that Sandler was working on part 2 of Happy Gilmore, and Netflix confirmed this a little later. Do you remember May 17, 2024? – That’s right, that was the Friday on which world number one Scottie Scheffler was arrested. Pictures of Scheffler in prison garb went around the world and it was unclear whether he would even make it to his second round tee time at the PGA Championship. As is well known, he did make it and even played an impressive – for the circumstances – round of 66. The white Nike golf cap he was wearing that day was auctioned off at a Kids Cancer Alliance charity event along with three golf balls signed by Scheffler for 2,375 dollars.

Scheffler had signed the cap and donated it to the organization along with the golf balls. The event took place in Louisville, where the 2024 PGA Championship was also held.

To put it in perspective: Scheffler’s simple-looking white cap fetched almost as much money as Shohei Ohtani’s signed baseball bat, at just under 2,400 dollars. Ohtani, of the Los Angeles Dodgers, is currently the most popular baseball player in the world. The baseball exhibit was auctioned for 2,750 dollars.

Team England, who will be playing the final of the Euro 2024 on Sunday, have been residing at Weimarer Land Resort during their time in Germany. A few days ago England players had a little golf challenge. In this challenge, players from North England competed against those from South England. The video, which was posted on YouTube, features a lot of exciting and funny moments, including Arsenal star Bukayo Saka hitting some serious golf shots after a lesson by Ian Poulter.

Bryson DeChambeau injured his left hip as well as his left wrist while playing ping pong during the Saudi International in February 2022. As a result, DeChambeau was forced to drop out of two tournaments and missed the cut several times as he apparently failed to properly heal his injury. Disappointment also followed at the Masters at the beginning of April: After it had initially been said that DeChambeau would return to the first major of the year 100 percent fit, he still seemed to have had problems with his wrist and failed to make the cut. There was now no getting around surgery.

Bryson DeChambeau wants to play “at golf’s highest level” again

The injury in Bryson DeChambeau’s wrist involves the hamate bone, a carpal bone. Following the surgery, which was performed by renowned hand surgeon Dr. Thomas Graham, DeChambeau reached out on Instagram and Twitter with an update.

In his statement, the 28-year-old expressed his usual confidence. He is looking forward to playing at the highest level again in the coming months. DeChambeau seems to want to forget the past few weeks: “I made attempts to play through this injury at three recent events, including the Masters, but this is typically an injury that requires surgical treatment. Through continued discomfort from the fracture, it has caused me to alter my grip and swing, resulting in my inability to compete at golf’s highest level. This has not been easy physically and mentally for me.”

DeChambeau faces hard work ahead

Bryson DeChambeau also wrote that he will now take enough time to recover so that he can return to his usual form afterwards: “Thank you to my family, team, partners, and supporters during this tough stretch but I am excited to work hard to get back competing soon.”

It doesn’t look like DeChambeau will compete at the PGA Championship in May 2022 due to the length of time his wrist will take to heal. A return by the US Open in June 2022 would be desirable for the golfer.
