After losing PGA and DP World Tour rights, Sky Sport acquires LIV Golf and Asian Tour broadcast rights with 600 hours of live golf from 2026.
Following the loss of exclusive broadcasting rights for the DP World Tour and PGA Tour in German-speaking regions to Telekom’s Magenta TV from 2026, Sky Sport has now secured the rights to LIV Golf and the key tournaments of the Asian Tour starting in 2026. Sky Sport will broadcast 30 events from these tours, totaling around 600 hours of live coverage on television.
Sky Responds to Rights Loss by Joining LIV Golf and Asian Tour
Hans Gabbe, Senior Vice President Sports Rights & Commercialization at Sky Deutschland, expresses his enthusiasm that Sky Sport will retain long-term broadcasting rights for all four men’s Major tournaments, the five women’s Major tournaments, all major women’s tournaments, and now additionally the LIV Golf League and the Asian Tour. He states, ‘The global schedule of LIV Golf and its unique team and individual competition format provide fans access to some of the biggest golf stars and amazing venues. Our customers can look forward to innovatively produced golf events featuring many of the most exciting and best players in the world.’
The partnership begins on Friday, January 9, 2026, with the live broadcast of the qualifying event “LIV Golf Promotions 2026” at Black Diamond Ranch in Florida, where an international field competes for three coveted wildcard spots for the 2026 LIV Golf League season. German professionals Dominic Foos, Max Kieffer, Max Rottluff, and Austrian Matthias Schwab are among the competitors. Sky Sport Golf will broadcast LIV Golf Promotions live daily from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
With the LIV Golf League, the Asian Tour, and over 1,000 hours of live coverage annually, Sky Sport continues to offer its customers an extensive golf program. The DP World Tour and PGA Tour tournaments will be broadcast on Magenta TV starting January 15, 2026. Golf fans wishing to follow weekly live golf and major tournaments on their devices will need to subscribe to two services going forward.
