Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen wins Australian Open in Under Armour shoes

Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen claims his first DP World Tour title at the Australian Open, securing a Masters spot with Under Armour shoes.

A three-meter putt was all that stood between Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen and his maiden DP World Tour victory. The Danish golfer held his nerve on the 18th green at Royal Melbourne Golf Club to win the Australian Open and earn a coveted invitation to the 2026 Masters Tournament. His winning performance was supported by a prototype shoe not yet available to the public: the Drive Pro Clone by Under Armour Golf.

Under Armour Golf technology meets custom performance

According to Under Armour Golf, the Drive Pro Clone was first introduced to Neergaard-Petersen after a comprehensive fitting session at the Performance Centre in Stoke Park. There, Richard Palmer-Jones and his team analyzed the Dane’s movement and pressure patterns to determine the optimal footwear setup. The result was a custom-fit solution, with the Drive Pro Clone emerging as the top choice. The shoe’s design focuses on maximizing stability and traction, and it has been a staple in his gear since the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. Under Armour Golf confirmed that the partnership with Neergaard-Petersen is intended to be long-term. ‘From the first test, it was clear the Clone was the right fit for him,’ said Palmer-Jones.

Road to the Masters and PGA Tour

Neergaard-Petersen’s triumph in Australia marks a major milestone in his career, propelling him onto golf’s biggest stages, including the Masters and the PGA Tour in 2026. He plans to continue using the Clone model throughout this journey. The Drive Pro Clone is expected to launch officially in February 2026, with feedback from players like Neergaard-Petersen shaping the final product.
