Jeeno Thitikul extends lead at LPGA Tour Championship

Jeeno Thitikul takes a commanding six-shot lead into the final round of the LPGA Tour Championship. Esther Henseleit slips back.

On moving day at the LPGA Tour season finale, Jeeno Thitikul once again proved why she is currently the world number one. With her second consecutive 64, the Thai star extended her lead to six strokes. At 22-under-par overall, she sits comfortably ahead of Nelly Korda and Pajaree Anannarukarn at Tiburón Golf Club heading into the final round.

Thitikul in full control at LPGA Tour Championship

Thitikul’s round started quietly with a bogey on the first hole. But what followed was business as usual for the week—birdies came in rapid succession, four on the front nine and four more on the back. Her strategy? “Hit fairways, get in good position, and putt,” she said after the round. Simple in theory, but currently the gold standard on the LPGA Tour.

While Thitikul marches toward the title, Nelly Korda remains in the chaser’s role. Despite a strong 65, she couldn’t close the gap. “You can’t get too ahead of yourself—things can get wild quickly,” Korda said about the final round. Pajaree Anannarukarn also had a stellar day, highlighted by an eagle on the sixth hole. The last qualifier in the field is now tied for second.

Mixed day for Esther Henseleit

It was a grind for Esther Henseleit in round three. After a steady start with four pars, three bogeys crept onto her scorecard. The par-5 14th proved costly once again. Still, the German showed resilience with birdies on holes 15, 17, and 18 to salvage a 73 (+1). She sits at +1 overall, tied for 55th place.
