The 2026 LIV Golf Promotions Event in Florida will feature 87 players competing for two coveted league spots. Field now confirmed.
The official field for the 2026 LIV Golf Promotions Event has been announced, with 87 players set to compete from January 8–11 at Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto, Florida. This year, two league spots are up for grabs, compared to just one last year when Chieh-po Lee secured his place in the LIV Golf League. The stakes are higher this time, with increased prize money and a revamped promotion-relegation system aimed at gaining Official World Golf Ranking points.
Big names headline LIV Golf Promotions lineup
Among the notable entrants are German-speaking players Maximilian Kieffer and Matthias Schwab, both aiming to secure a spot in the league. The field also includes the top ten players from the International Series, such as Miguel Tabuena (Philippines winner), Ollie Schniederjans (India winner), and Wade Ormsby (Jakarta winner), all of whom are pre-qualified for the second round. Former LIV players like Ben Campbell, Matt Jones, Andy Ogletree, Anthony Kim, Max Rottluff, and John Catlin are also in the mix.
European standouts include former Ryder Cup player and BMW PGA champion Chris Wood, five-time DP World Tour winner Alex Levy, and former Open Championship silver medalist Tom Lewis. Other familiar names are Callum Shinkwin, Lucas Bjerregaard, and Walker Cup players Dominic Clemons and Charlie Forster.
LIV Golf reports that 50 of the 87 players have won a tournament in the past two years, including 39 different winners of OWGR-sanctioned events in 2025. \”The development of LIV Golf Promotions reflects our ongoing commitment to creating truly open and competitive pathways for players worldwide to compete at the highest level,\” said LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil. \”It will be a high-stakes, intense competition from start to finish, and we look forward to celebrating the players who earn their chance at LIV Golf’s biggest season yet.\”
PGA Tour players still barred from participation
Once again, no PGA Tour members will participate, as the Tour classifies the four-day event as unauthorized. Any member competing would face a one-year suspension. Tensions between the two leagues remain high, recently reignited when Laurie Canter relinquished his PGA Tour card to return to the Saudi-backed league.
