LIV Golf reveals official field for 2026 Promotions event in Florida

The annual LIV Golf Promotions event returns in January, with 87 players competing for two coveted spots in the 2026 league.

The official field for the 2026 LIV Golf Promotions event has been announced. A total of 87 players will compete from January 8 to 11 at Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto, Florida, for two spots in the LIV Golf League. Last year’s event in Saudi Arabia offered just one league spot, which was claimed by Chieh-po Lee. This year, the stakes have been raised with increased prize money and a revamped promotion-relegation system aimed at earning OWGR points.

Big names headline LIV Golf Promotions field

German-speaking players Maximilian Kieffer and Matthias Schwab are among the contenders aiming to secure a place in the league. The field also includes the top ten players from the International Series’ top 20, such as Miguel Tabuena (Philippines winner), Ollie Schniederjans (India winner), and Wade Ormsby (Jakarta winner). All are pre-qualified for the second round, along with former LIV players Ben Campbell, Matt Jones, Andy Ogletree, Anthony Kim, Max Rottluff, and John Catlin.

Notable European names include former Ryder Cup player and BMW PGA champion Chris Wood, five-time DP World Tour winner Alex Levy, and former Open Championship silver medalist Tom Lewis. Also competing are DPWT regulars Callum Shinkwin and Lucas Bjerregaard, as well as Walker Cup players Dominic Clemons and Charlie Forster.

According to LIV Golf, 50 of the 87 players have won a tournament in the past two years, including 39 winners of OWGR-sanctioned events in 2025. “The evolution of LIV Golf Promotions reflects our ongoing commitment to creating truly open and competitive pathways for players from around the world to compete at the highest level,” said LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil. “It will be a high-stakes, high-intensity competition from start to finish, and we look forward to celebrating the players who earn their shot at LIV Golf’s biggest season yet.”

PGA Tour players still barred from competing

Once again, no PGA Tour players will participate, as the Tour considers the four-day tournament an unauthorized event. Any member who competes would face a one-year suspension. Tensions between the two professional golf circuits remain high, with the latest controversy sparked by Laurie Canter relinquishing his PGA Tour card to return to the Saudi-backed league.
