Several German-speaking pros compete for three LIV Golf League 2026 spots at the Florida Promotions.
From January 8 to 11 in Lecanto, Florida, almost 90 players from 24 countries will gather for the LIV Golf Promotions, all aiming for one of three wild-card spots for the LIV Golf League 2026. The event features four rounds of stroke play with a daily cut and new chances each day. Those reaching the weekend compete for a total prize fund of 1.5 million USD and a spot in the global LIV Golf circuit. Ultimately, three players will earn places in the LIV Golf League 2026 with guaranteed starts at all 13 events, while ten others will secure starts in the International Series.
LIV Golf Opens Doors – Who Will Seize the Opportunity?
The field includes tour winners, former LIV players, and newcomers. For some, it’s a comeback; for others, a breakthrough. Among them, five German-speaking players see this event as a significant opportunity and potentially the start of a new chapter.
Max Kieffer Eyes Next Chapter
For Max Kieffer, this might be his most important appearance since winning on the DP World Tour in 2022. After 13 years on Europe’s top tour, he lost his card. The 2025 season was challenging, ranking dropped, and he missed Q-School. Now LIV Golf offers a new path. The Düsseldorf native brings experience and a clear message: “We’re not done yet.” Florida will reveal how far his comeback journey goes.
Foos, Bachem, Rottluff, Schwab: Distinct Journeys
Dominic Foos, who claimed a 2025 Asian Tour win, has shown consistent play and international experience that paved his way into the Promotions. At 28, a LIV Golf League spot would elevate his career and exposure. Nick Bachem’s 2025 ended disappointingly with injury and a last place at Q-School, but the 26-year-old fighter has proven he can win at the highest level. Similarly, Austrian Matthias Schwab missed the tour school final, closing realistic tour card chances after years on the PGA and DP World Tours. LIV Golf could provide a fresh start. Maximilian Rottluff brings a personal perspective, having qualified last year through this same tournament for the Asian Tour’s International Series.
Recognizable Names and Unsettled Business at LIV Golf
The international field features notable global pros including Ryder Cup player Chris Wood (England), five-time DP World Tour winner Alex Levy (France), top Asian Tour performers like Miguel Tabuena (Philippines), and former top-ten amateur Pablo Ereno (Spain). Australia’s Christopher Wood leads the PGA Tour of Australasia leaderboard and is also competing. Former LIV Golf players such as Anthony Kim, Matt Jones, and Ben Campbell use the Promotions to re-qualify for the 2026 season.
