From January 8 to 11, the LIV Golf Promotions in Lecanto, Florida, bring together nearly 90 players from 24 countries, all aiming for one of three wild-card spots for the LIV Golf League 2026. The path leads through four rounds of stroke play, with daily cuts and new chances. Those who reach the weekend compete for a total prize fund of 1.5 million US dollars and a place in the global LIV Golf circuit. At the end, three spots are available for the LIV Golf League 2026, including guaranteed starts at all 13 events. Ten more players will earn starts in the International Series.
LIV Golf Opens the Door – Who Will Seize the League Entry?
The field includes tour winners, former LIV players, and newcomers alike. For some players, it’s about a comeback; for others, it’s a breakthrough. Among them are five German-speaking participants for whom the event represents a genuine opportunity and perhaps the start of a new chapter.
Highlights of German-speaking Players and International Names
Max Kieffer’s appearance could be his most significant since winning on the DP World Tour in 2022. After 13 years at the European top level, he lost his tour card; 2025 did not go as planned. Now LIV Golf presents a new chance. Dominic Foos impressed with his 2025 Asian Tour win and seeks to progress further. Nick Bachem and Matthias Schwab both faced setbacks in 2025 but show resilience and potential paths through LIV Golf. Maximilian Rottluff enters with unique experience, having qualified last year for the International Series through the same event.
The international field also features well-known names such as Ryder Cup participant Chris Wood (England), five-time DP World Tour winner Alex Levy (France), and Miguel Tabuena (Philippines), among others. Former LIV Golf players like Anthony Kim, Matt Jones, and Ben Campbell use the promotions series to re-qualify for the 2026 season.
