Several German-speaking pros compete for three spots in the LIV Golf League 2026 at the Florida Promotions.
From January 8 to 11, the LIV Golf Promotions in Lecanto, Florida, bring together nearly 90 players from 24 countries, all aiming for one of three wild-card spots in the LIV Golf League 2026. The path runs through four rounds of stroke play, with a new cut each day and fresh opportunities. Those advancing to the weekend compete for a total prize fund of 1.5 million USD and a place in the global LIV Golf circuit. Ultimately, three spots for the LIV Golf League 2026 are awarded, including guaranteed starts in all 13 events. Ten additional players earn spots in the International Series.
LIV Golf Opens the Door – Who Will Seize Entry into the League?
The field includes tour winners, former LIV players, and newcomers. For some, it is about a comeback; for others, a breakthrough. Among them are five German-speaking participants seeing the event as a real opportunity and possibly the start of a new chapter.
Profiles of German-speaking Contenders
Max Kieffer faces perhaps his most important appearance since his DP World Tour win in 2022. After 13 years in Europe’s top tier, he lost his tour card. The 2025 season did not go as planned, with a drop in ranking and missing Q-School. Now LIV Golf represents a new chance. The Düsseldorf native brings experience and determination, having declared, “We’re not done yet.” Florida will reveal how far his comeback can go.
Dominic Foos had a notable 2025 with a win on the Asian Tour, bringing consistency and international experience to the Promotions. At 28, moving up to the LIV Golf League would be both a sporting step up and a spotlight boost.
Nick Bachem’s 2025 ended disappointingly due to injury, form issues, and finishing last at Q-School. Yet his resilience and proven ability to win at the top level remain. Similarly, Matthias Schwab of Austria missed the final stage of Tour School, losing tour card chances after years on PGA and DP World Tours. LIV Golf might open a new path. Maximilian Rottluff, who qualified last year for the Asian Tour’s International Series via this event, enters with his own unique perspective.
Notable Names and Unsettled Scores at LIV Golf
The international field features many well-known global pros, including Ryder Cup participant Chris Wood (England), five-time DP World Tour winner Alex Levy (France), Asian Series top-three finisher Miguel Tabuena (Philippines), and former top-ten amateur Pablo Ereno (Spain). Christopher Wood (Australia), currently leading the PGA Tour of Australasia, also competes. Former LIV Golf players Anthony Kim, Matt Jones, and Ben Campbell use the Promotions series as a route to requalify for the 2026 season.
