LIV Golf Promotions 2026: New Opportunities for Kieffer, Bachem & Co.

Several German-speaking pros start at the LIV Golf Promotions in Florida battling for three LIV Golf League 2026 spots.

From January 8 to 11, the LIV Golf Promotions in Lecanto, Florida will gather nearly 90 players from 24 countries, all aiming for one of three wild-card spots for the LIV Golf League 2026. The path to qualification comprises four rounds of stroke play, with a new cut and fresh chances each day. Players advancing to the weekend compete for a total prize fund of $1.5 million and a spot in the global LIV Golf circuit. At the end, three positions for the LIV Golf League 2026 are awarded, guaranteeing starts in all 13 events. Additionally, ten others earn starting rights for the International Series.

LIV Golf Opens the Door – Who Will Seize the Opportunity?

The field includes tour winners, former LIV players, and newcomers, creating a highly competitive tournament. For some, it is a chance to make a comeback; for others, a first major breakthrough. Among them, five German-speaking players see this event as a real opportunity and perhaps the beginning of a new chapter.

Profiles of German-speaking Contenders and International Field Overview

Max Kieffer approaches this event as possibly his most important since winning on the DP World Tour in 2022. After 13 years in the European top tier, his tour card was lost. The 2025 season did not go as planned, ranking fell and he missed Q-School. Now LIV Golf is the next path. The Düsseldorf native brings experience and determination, famously stating, “We’re not done yet.” Florida will reveal how far his comeback journey will be.

Dominic Foos, who drew attention in 2025 with an Asian Tour victory, uses consistent play and international experience to fight for a promotion spot. For the 28-year-old, joining the LIV Golf League would mean not only a sporting step up but a launch into the tour’s spotlight.

Nick Bachem ended 2025 on a low note with injuries and form struggles, finishing last in Q-School. Yet the resilient 26-year-old has shown he can win at the highest level. Similarly, Austrian Matthias Schwab missed the final round of Q-School, reducing his realistic chance for a tour card. After years on the PGA and DP World Tour, he now seeks a new path — LIV Golf could provide it. Maximilian Rottluff also approaches the LIV Golf Promotions with unique perspective, having qualified last year through this very tournament for the Asian Tour’s International Series.

The international field features familiar names from global professional golf, including Ryder Cup participant Chris Wood from England, five-time DP World Tour winner Alex Levy from France, and Miguel Tabuena of the Philippines, a 2025 International Series top-three finisher. Pablo Ereno from Spain, a former top ten amateur worldwide, is also competing, along with Christopher Wood from Australia, currently leading the PGA Tour of Australasia. Former LIV Golf players such as Anthony Kim, Matt Jones, and Ben Campbell are using the promotion series to qualify again for the 2026 season.
